State Street is a landmark in downtown Chicago, known for such landmark shopping destinations as Marshall Field’s and some of the most historically important architecture in America. As part of the recent revitalization of the Chicago’s Central Business District, the City of Chicago contracted with Divane Bros. to install new, historically accurate lighting poles on State Street. These poles replicated the original design by Daniel Burnham, complete with simulated blue “pilot lights” representing the original gas flamed lighting in the early 1900’s.
