Jackson Platform and Red Line Subway Stations

The Chicago Transit Authority’s rehabilitation of the State Street Subway Continuous Platform included work from the Adams / Jackson Station to the Congress / Van Buren Station as well as the Transfer Tunnel between the Red & Blue Lines. Work on this project consisted of updating the platform level and subway station areas, and had to be performed while keeping the platforms open for public use during construction.

Divane Bros. Electric Co.’s work on these areas included completely new electrical services, switchgear, lighting, and backup power services, including a DC Static Inverter. New communications systems were also installed, including a fiber optic communications cabling system, an audio/visual public address system, supervisory monitoring systems, and new fire alarm and CCTV systems.
